Defy Gravity with Cheek Fillers

Cheek Fillers. Door To Door Med Spa, Austin, TXOur cheeks start to sag as we age. With time, the cheeks deflate and the skin starts to fall toward the jawline. This sagging can contribute to heaviness around the smile lines and in the jowls. Loss of volume in the cheeks can make us look gaunt and tired.

Fortunately, dermal fillers can add volume to areas that are sagging and can help reduce wrinkles and lines. By lifting the cheeks, the jowls can be reduced, the dark circles under the eyes can be diminished and smile lines can be improved.

Cheek filler is a great way to rejuvenate your skin without undergoing a surgical procedure. There are numerous dermal fillers on the market that are safe and less expensive than surgery.
In general, filler treatments are done in an outpatient setting. There is very little pain, and you can typically return to normal activities just following the procedure. It is very rare to see side effects with hyaluronic acid fillers. There may be redness, swelling and bruising at the site. Hyaluronic acid is reversible if the results aren’t optimal.

Cheek correction with a liquid face lift can be accomplished with Radiesse®, Perlane® and Juvederm®. Juvederm® Voluma™ XC contains hyaluronic acid which is a substance that is found naturally in your skin. It is the first filler approved by the FDA for cheek volumizing and is labeled to last for a two year duration. This is because it is thicker and more robust than the other hyaluronic acid fillers. Most patients notice less puffiness, and the product is much smoother and less likely to cause bumpiness. Injectable fillers stimulate our skin to make collagen so that, for each subsequent treatment, you may need less filler and are able to go longer between treatments.

Perlane® is very similar to Voluma™ in that it is also a hyaluronic acid-based filler. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar that is found in connective tissue. It decreases with age and UV light. The larger particle size of Perlane® makes it a good option for lifting, compared to other soft tissue fillers like Restylane® or Belotero®. Restylane® Lyft, formerly known as Perlane-L® can provide improvement for up to 12 months.

Radiesse® is an injectable filer that contains hyaluronic acid and additions of calcium hydroxyapatite. This seems to slow the turnover of the product. However, Radiesse® has the consistency of toothpaste and can show through thinner skin. It also tends to cause more swelling on injection—compared to its hyaluronic acid counterparts.

Hyaluronic acid filler is a popular treatment for volumizing and wrinkle reduction and is significantly cheaper than surgical options. The results are immediate and can last for over a year.
